Standard Restrained Joint

The restrained system with glands and bolts is the oldest and is considered the classic system. It supports high pressures and angular deflection before tightening. It is a traditional system that, although is more complex due to the need to tighten the bolts, is also an economical system.
Operation
With a flange in the bell of the pipe where the bolt grips and a ring that goes against the weld bead with which the spigot of the iron pipe is equipped. A counter flange is placed, which, when tightened to a preset torque, the pipe is locked and prepared to withstand the pressures for which it has been designed. A classic of restraint systems.
TYTON SIT PLUS®
The TYTON SIT PLUS® restrained joint guarantees sealing and offers disconnection resistance to the pressures indicated by the manufacturer. It is a useful alternative even in pipelines where it is decided to restrain the line at the last moment, since the pipe socket is compatible with the TYTON® joint.
Operation
The TYTON SIT PLUS® joint incorporates metal inserts housed in the sealing gasket itself. The joint has the property of allowing restraint without the need to change the type of pipe, since the same chamber is used.
This joint does not require any preparation of the pipe surface for its installation. The joints are restrained and do not require anchor blocks, bolts, slots, rods, clamps or retaining elements, resulting in savings in labor, material and time.
The inserts or metal segments restrain the joint by the effect of friction on the surface of the smooth end of the pipe.
