DC-LOK Restrained Joint

double chamber restrained joint

The DC-LOK® restrained joint is a double-chamber restrained joint.

The traditional sealing chamber equipped with a TYTON® joint and a locking chamber, which together with the anchoring segments and a weld bead exerts a positive retention action once the joint is locked.

The restrained joint is semi-flexible, admitting up to 5º of angular deflection at each joint, depending on the pipe diameter.

The pressure of the joint is transmitted to the entire wall of the ductile iron pipe, and the same forces are transferred from one pipe to another. This, together with the coefficient of friction and the terrain (whether above ground or in a trench), combined with all the elements of the pipeline, generates an energy dissipation effect that allows the elimination of concrete thrust blocks.

The high tensile strength that each restrained joint admits allows its application with trenchless technology such as above-ground pipelines, or techniques like pipe bursting or horizontal directional drilling (HDD).

DC-LOK Joint System

This joint system is a very quick assembly method. Assembly can be carried out between 3 and 20 minutes depending on the diameter and the difficulty of the terrain where the pipeline is to be installed.

The DC-LOK® double-chamber restrained pipe is available from DN100 to DN1000, according to manufacturing standards ISO 2531/ISO10804-1/EN 545/EN598, and has the full range of restrained fittings.
