El Socorro Aqueduct

Potable Water for the Next 100 Years
The inhabitants of El Socorro have been dreaming for years of a definitive solution to the problem of drinking water supply. A solution that becomes reality thanks to the advanced TLS ductile iron technology, which features a locking system for DN 250 and DN 300 to withstand pressures of up to 85 bar.
- A major challenge: 17.5 km in length
- Elimination of blocks at changes in direction and adaptability to the terrain
Supply
In the case of El Socorro, the entire pipeline was executed with ductile iron pipe with a self-restrained joint. Different diameters were used, allowing the project flow to be supplied, the high pressures at the low point to be withstood, and the head loss to be kept within bounds. The joint system chosen was Duktus BLS, a mechanical self-restrained joint without field welds and without thrust blocks to resist hydraulic thrusts.
Project Success Keys
The creation of a socially and economically viable technical solution using the appropriate components and international standards.
And all this with a successful workflow between expert designers and specialized manufacturers.
